That seems are strange headline for an internet home business.
Yes and No. I haven’t posted an article for awhile because
I have been on vacation or some say a holiday in Northern Australia.
(I must confess though I was away longer than I figured originally)

Now we all need to recharge our batteries. You me and anyone else who works. BUT for a lot of people they get too caught up with their business and day to day activities they forget to smell the roses along the way.

That quote is many years old but became popular in golfing circles by I think the great player Walter Hagen.
This came about due to players wanted to rush rush, but Hagen wanted to enjoy himself, so now when a player is hurrying or wanting you to hurry the response is smell the roses.

Well that is the same for you and your business, regardless of what age you are or what business you are in.

Now we all know that many guru’s will tell you you can make a fortune on the net just by working one or two hours a day.

Phooey.

Ask them how many hours a day it took to learn the business and how many hours it took to get the business firing. Then yes you may just work a few hours a day.

But … the point of the article is you must not involve yourself so much into your business at the expense of everything else.

Most importantly your family.

How many successful business people do you hear them say “my main regret was not having enough time for my kids”. Or how many adults have you heard say” I never really knew my dad he was always away or in his office working.

Today … where quite often both parents are working to make ends meet it is not easy. But think about it. It is not much good either if the family unit breaks down because parents are never home or to busy working or one partner dies young of a heart attack or similar due to stress.

I don’t normally quote the bible but you must agree that the philosophy of the sabbath is a day of rest is still relevant today. Maybe Sunday might be difficult but pick your day. And if you can’t find a day make sure you allot daily some time for a hobby, sport, recreation and YOUR family.

Looking to leave your boring day job and start a worthwhile and financially rewarding career while being your own boss. There is a way to escape the corporate rat race or “womb to the tomb work syndrome”.

Now I know it is simple to say … but in reality you just need to come up with an online business idea. There are millions of people logging into o the internet every day and they are all looking to either buy something or learn something. Take advantage of them and tap into your skills and find a great online business.

You need to get creative … first figure out what you are good at. Great at writing then an online business idea might be starting a freelance writing business. Love sales? Why not try opening an online store there are even turnkey businesses that come complete with inventory to get you started. Are you the queen of arts and crafts? Open a business selling custom handmade crafts, anything from hand painted wedding invitations to carefully crafted beaded jewelry.

Keep your expectations realistic… Obviously you want to have a positive attitude and have faith that you will succeed but you also need to decide if your skills are really good enough to make money in your chosen field and if you are willing to put in the hours to see a profit. Don’t expect to become a millionaire ( well at least overnight) but it is possible to earn a decent income and more doing what you love to do.
